The benefits of edge computing are vast, and it's driving new connectivity solutions. Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC) is a feature of 5G networks that requires computing and processing of data to be completed near the end user. The proximity of cellular networks to users, through cell towers, macro sites, and DAS hubs, strongly supports the integration of edge infrastructure with cellular infrastructure. In this course, you'll be introduced to the key benefits of integrating edge computing with 5G networks, along with current developments in the traditional tower business to accommodate edge deployments. We'll cover the impacts of edge computing, private LTE and 5G networks on the exisiting cellular infrastructure, and the need for fiber backhaul.
