Wireless 101 is designed to familiarize participants with the practical aspects of wireless communication systems and their industrial applications. When it comes to modern cellular systems, it is important to understand the numerous technological developments that affect its deployment and the business ecosystem.
Foundational theories of cellular communication are an important, yet often overlooked, domain in today’s wireless world. This course provides the basic principles of Radio Frequency (RF) theories and the underlying RF principles that apply to today’s cellular systems. After reviewing current industry practices around macro cell sites, we’ll study how cell sites are designed, the hardware components at a typical cell site, and the RF measurements necessary to maintain the integrity of a cellular network.
